(Kaohsiung News) The Unmanned Vehicle Systems Industry Development Association of R.O.C. recently held its annual members' meeting in Kaohsiung. The event brought together elites from industry, government, academia, and research sectors, focusing on domestic and international trends, technological development, and government strategic planning for the unmanned vehicle industry. The aim was to outline the future blueprint for Taiwan's unmanned vehicle systems industry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The association's mission is to promote the upgrading and transformation of Taiwan's unmanned vehicle industry through technological advancement, industry collaboration, policy support, and international integration. The association boasts a robust membership base, comprising nearly 30 core enterprises such as Carbon-Based Technology, Ta Ya Electric Wire & Cable, Erotech, and AWAN Technology, as well as seven major research institutions like the Industrial Technology Research Institute (ITRI) and the Institute for Information Industry (III), and nine academic institutions including National Chung Hsing University and National Cheng Kung University. This forms a cross-disciplinary collaborative network dedicated to integrating cutting-edge technologies and application solutions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
At the invitation of Association Chairman Lin Chiu-feng, several heavyweight speakers delivered insightful presentations. Dr. Chun-Liang Lin, Vice President of the National Applied Research Laboratories (NARLabs), provided an in-depth analysis of the latest global trends and application prospects for drone technology. Hsin-Yi Tsou, Director at Darwin Precision Corporation, shared the AUO Group's innovative plans for a \"Smart Harbor,\" showcasing the application potential of smart technology in real-world scenarios. Han-Chang Hsieh, Deputy Director-General of the Bureau of Standards, Metrology and Inspection (BSMI), MOEA, was also in attendance. He stated that the bureau will further plan relevant drone testing and verification processes to ensure the quality of Taiwan's drone industry and its international competitiveness.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Lin Chiu-feng stated that the future will be an era of coordinated operations across land, sea, air, and satellite, where unmanned vehicle systems will play a crucial role in various fields. This members' meeting was not only a platform for sharing and exchange but also a vital starting point for consolidating efforts from all sectors to consider how to leverage unmanned vehicle systems to advance national policies.
