What is an AHRS?

INS/AHRS Inertial Attitude and Navigation Systems

INS (Inertial Navigation System) and AHRS (Attitude and Heading Reference System) are widely used inertial sensing systems for measuring an object's orientation, motion, and heading. They are broadly applied across aerospace, aviation, navigation, and autonomous systems.

Gyroscope

Measures the angular velocity of an object across three axes, providing information about its rotation.

Accelerometer

Measures the linear acceleration of an object along the X, Y, and Z axes.

Magnetometer

Some AHRS modules are equipped with a magnetometer to detect the Earth's magnetic field, which helps to provide a more accurate heading correction.
